Getting Around

The app has four main tabs at the bottom: Schedule, Dance, Me, and Search.

Schedule

  • View your upcoming and past appointments (private lessons, group classes, custom events).
  • Tap any appointment to see details: time, location, teachers, and other students.
  • Swipe or tap arrows to navigate between months.
  • If you're connected to multiple studios, use the filter icon to show appointments from specific studios.

Dance Tab

The Dance tab has three sub-tabs: Routines, Classes, and Events.

Routines

  • Browse all routines you're assigned to.
  • Tap a routine to see details: choreographers, music, styles, level, and other dancers.
  • View media (photos/videos) attached to each routine.
  • Toggle "Show Archived" to see past routines.

Classes

  • View all group classes you're enrolled in.
  • See class details: teachers, schedule, location, and roster.
  • Toggle "Show Inactive" to see past classes.

Events & Performances

  • Browse competitions and performances you're part of.
  • View event details: dates, location, timeline, and your performances.
  • See entry IDs, scores, and performance order.
  • Toggle "Show Archived" to see past events.

Me (Profile & Portfolio)

Profile

  • View and edit your name, nickname, pronouns, bio, and avatar.
  • Tap the edit icon to update your info.

Portfolio Tabs

  • Library - All media you've uploaded.
  • Mentions - Media where you've been tagged.
  • Favorites - Media you've liked.

Portfolio Settings

  • Set portfolio visibility to "Spotlight Only" (curated) or full portfolio.
  • Set privacy to "Connected" (studio contacts only) or public.

Spotlight

  • Curate up to 3 featured media items per routine.
  • Enable spotlight mode from a routine's detail screen.
  • Drag media into spotlight positions or use auto-assign.

Media

Viewing

  • Browse photos and videos from routines, classes, and events.
  • Tap the heart icon to favorite media.
  • See view counts and favorite counts.
  • View all tags/associations on a media item.

Uploading

  • Tap the upload button to add photos or videos from your camera or gallery.
  • Add a description using the mention editor — type # to tag a routine or @ to tag a person.
  • Tags link media to the correct routines, classes, events, or people.

Search

  • Search across fellow dancers, teachers, routines, classes, events, and studios.
  • Filter results by type using the tabs at the top.
  • Your recently viewed items appear when you first open search.

Notifications

  • Tap the bell icon on the Me screen to view notifications.
  • Notifications include: media tags, comments, routine assignments, appointment changes, and studio messages.
  • Tap a notification to jump directly to the related content.
  • Use "Mark All Read" to clear the unread badge.

Notification Preferences

  • Tap the gear icon on the Notifications screen.
  • Toggle individual categories on/off: private appointments, group classes, media tags, comments, routine updates, and more.

Security

  • Enable Face ID or fingerprint from the Me screen options menu.
  • Once enabled, biometric authentication is required each time you open the app.

For Studio Teachers

Everything above applies to you as well. Below are additional features available because you teach at a studio.

Attendance

  • Open any appointment where you are the assigned teacher.
  • Tap each student to mark them Present or Absent.
  • Add an optional note for any student (e.g., absence reason).

Student Ratings

  • From an appointment detail screen, rate each student:
    • Heart rating - Effort and attitude.
    • Star rating - Skill and technique.
  • Ratings are saved and persist across recurring appointments.

Advanced Schedule Filtering

  • The filter icon appears if you teach at multiple studios or have a teacher role.
  • Filter by studio to see only appointments at a specific location.
  • Use the "Me Only" toggle to show only your personal teaching schedule.
  • Filter by teacher to view another teacher's schedule.

Media Management

  • On any media item where you have manage access, you can:
    • Edit the description - Tap the edit icon to update text and inline mentions.
    • Add tags - Tap "+ Tag" to search and attach routines, students, classes, events, or teachers.
    • Remove tags - Tap the X on any direct tag to remove it. Cascade tags (auto-generated from parent entities) cannot be removed.

Viewing Parent/Guardian Details

  • From a student's profile, tap their guardian to view parent contact info.
  • If you have the notification permission, a Notifications tab appears showing message history with that parent.

My Roles

  • From the Me screen options menu, tap My Roles.
  • See all studios you're connected to and your role at each (Admin, Teacher, Parent, Dancer).
  • Role badges are color-coded for quick reference.
